Response to Please Help Me Choose a Translator

...looks to be the new asskicker. A bit more expensive, and probably a tad bit overkill (the internal organs of a cow are listed) but you won't go wrong with any of Canon's wordtank products. My 9500 has served me faithfully and reliably since 1994. Lots has happened in the world of flash memory and RAM capacity in general..they appear to have stuffed a TON of things in there that the 9500 or 9700 do not have. Six whole dictionaries and reference tomes...hundreds of thousands of entries, kanji, kanji combos, tsukaikata, explanatory diagrams...damn...I'm gonna have to get me one of these at some point.

I think a lot of it will be of fairly limited utility to someone who does not read Japanese at a fairly high level. I certianly do not have the skills to make full use of the thing, but you'll probably not need a new one if you do go that route.

I suspect a 9500 or 9700 will be just fine, but the sheer lookup power of the 4000 seems fomidable. Go with what you can afford.
