Response to Language

"I admit that my Japanese is not great, and a lot of Japanese panic when a foreigner speaks to them, in English or Japanese, but sometimes you just have to smile, shrug your shoulders and walk away, saying thank you.

Which is what I did. I didn't make a big deal out of it. I didn't ask & ask as I could see she was nervous and a new employee.

I'm sure I could have done a lot more to make her understand me, but why make a big deal out of it.
I was more interested in getting into the pool to cool off."

What A great "dad" you are gonna make with that attitude.

I think the main difference is that I am a father. I not only have to take into consideration my feelings, but those of my children, and what effect, if any, those types of situations will have on them.

It reminds me of a guy I met from Birmingham, Alabama. We were discussing the attitude of the people in that state. He blurts out, "Those fuckin nigger complainers. Shit, we don't hate em. We just want 'em to show us the respect we are entitled. It is our country. Hell, if they don't like it, they can get on a plane right back to Africa. Hell, as long as they act decent to us, we are decent back.

Whatever,,,,I am out of here
